The beliefs of W. A. Connolly Memorial Baptist Church are listed below along with a plan of salvation based on these beliefs.

We believe

…in the Holy Bible and that the Bible is God’s holy word written by men but divinely inspired by God. God is its author, salvation is its end, and truth without any mixture of error is its matter. It is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, beliefs, and opinions will be tried.

…there is one, and only one, living and true God who is the creator and the ruler of heaven and earth.

…in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

…the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace and that Jesus’ death on the cross made a full atonement for our sins.

…in order to be saved, sinners must be born again, and the only way to salvation and to Heaven is through Jesus Christ, God’s son.

…Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. This is to show our faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior and our death to sin and resurrection to a new life.

…the primary purpose of the CMBC is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) in the Delbarton area and to share the work of spreading the gospel throughout the whole world. As a church, we are devoted to making disciples, baptizing them into the fellowship of the church, and seeking to aid all who are a part of that fellowship to grow in the likeness of Christ.

…believe the authority of the church is vested in the congregation, that the church business meeting is the final authority for decisions concerning the actions and activities of the church, and that the final authority for practice and belief is the New Testament.

PLAN OF SALVATION

Connolly Memorial Baptist Church’s goal is to carry the gospel and to share God’s plan of salvation with as many people as possible. Salvation is free to everyone regardless of race, age, religion, or creed. We believe that being saved is as easy as “ABC”: Admit, Believe, Confess.

  • Admit you are a sinner and be willing to turn from your sin.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of   God;" (Romans 3:23)

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)

"If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10)

  • Believe that God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for the sins of man. Believe, also, that on the third day after His death, Jesus arose from the grave triumphant over death and sin.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

  • Confess your sins to God and call upon Him to forgive your sins and ask Him to come into your heart.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

Sinner’s Prayer:

After admitting you are a sinner and believing that Jesus died for you, confess your sins and ask Christ to come into your heart.

Here is a short prayer for you to use:

Dear God,

I am a sinner and am asking You for forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died and rose again so that my sins can be washed away and never seen again. I am willing to turn away from those sins and invite You into my heart and life. Please forgive me and become my personal Savior. I pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen
